Job Description

Security Role Description 7 Gate/Security Officer/Guard – Daventry Plant Protection

The Gate/Security Guard position at Daventry is an operational role that is key and integral to the efficient running and coordination of security plant protection,

These duties are carried out across a large site primarily parts distribution, however other site operations include the Heritage Centre and Henry Ford Academy,

Whilst based in a Gatehouses for much of the time during the working week, incumbents of this post will be required to support activities outside of this area as required.

Tasks Include:
 Control of vehicle and pedestrian egress.
 Dealing with employees, visitors, and contractors.
 Complete truck passes
 Keeping accurate logs – shipping & receiving
 Issuing keys
 Conduct reception duties if required.
 Liaise with shipping & Receiving and Security Lodge.
 Bag checks / ID checks
 Vehicle searches
 Vehicle & Foot Patrols, identify, report, record, problems back to the client.
 Respond to emergency procedures
 Control of Interior gates (locking / unlocking)
 Enforce security protocols to onsite staff, agency workers and contractors.
 Read and ‘action’ e-mails
 Liaise with the security lodge control in the event of an emergency.
 Vehicle Release Gates: Specification checks.
 Gate release all vehicles that have left the plant
 Operate the radio system
 Always wear appropriate PPE
 Incident writing/reporting.
 Issuing seals for trailers / sealing trailers
 Checking correct documents for loads leaving site
 Be computer literate so they can use the client electronic booing in and out system. (SAP system)
 Be able to carry out visual fire equipment checks (Extinguisher/hoses/BGA/fire doors/battery charging area)
 Aware and understand the basic fire training, to allow them to operate pumps/valves in an emergency.

Summary

The role is a culmination of mixed days nights and weekends over a 7 day period, applicants must hold a valid Full UK Driving licence.

A good understanding of IT is required and as mentioned before, whilst it would be a benefit to have some previous security experience together with your SIA licence, it’s not essential.

We provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence training to help you on your way to a career in security.

Our contractual requirements mean that you will be working a mixture of days, nights and weekends and would therefore need to be available for shifts Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.
