Place of work: based at Notre Dame High School Norwich and carry our jobs as and when required at other St John the Baptist Multi Academy Trust schools

This post will be required to work a shift pattern for 7.4 hours per day on rota between the hours of 7.00 am to 22.30 pm. Examples of rota 7:00-15:00, 9:00-17:00, 12:30-20:30, 10:00-18:00.

Shift system covers Monday to Friday but some Saturday cover for lettings is also a requirement of this role.

Notre Dame High School and is an 11-18 highly successful and oversubscribed Roman Catholic school with Academy status. We are part of the St John the Baptist Catholic MAT. We are an Outstanding school, one of only 37 EEF Research Schools nationally, and a newly designated Teaching School Hub.

We are looking to appoint a practical and well-motivated person for the post of Trust Facilities Officer (Caretaker), to join our team of committed staff. We are very proud of our historic buildings, so we especially want someone who will really care for our schools, ensuring they look its best, is safe and exemplifies the high expectations we have of our students.

The role will include a wide range of responsibilities and duties connected with the fabric of the building, health and safety, grounds and facilities maintenance and security.

You will need to:

  • be a hands on individual who can develop and implement systems/procedures as well as maintain current ones
  • be sympathetic to environmental concerns regarding the Trust schools and grounds
  • be able to prepare and implement risk assessments and any recommendations
  • contribute to projects and maintenance checks and schedules
  • be practical, with very good DIY skills to complete minor building repairs
  • be able to drive a motor vehicle
